The John Sullivan Award
John Sullivan was an inspiration to his teammates and always had a word of encouragement for anyone he met. Each year we honor his memory by acknowledging a male and a female athlete for adhering to the Olympic Oath: being strong, recognizing that what matters is how you prepare to compete, and that rooting for your team is the key to everyone's success.

The Kathy Wells Award
Given in memory of Kathy Wells , this award is presented annually to a male and female who try hard and in the process demonstrate the true meaning of the last line of the Olympic Oath: if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.

Brad Campbell: for bowling a remarkable 222 at the 2015 State Bowling Competition
Kyle Laundry: for being named Simley High School's 2015 Homecoming King

Robert Kviberg and John Beard: for becoming Eagle Scouts
Khari Richberg: whose efforts to raise money for the team was the focus of an article in the Star Tribune.
In 2015 the Stars lost a good friend and long time supporter, Hank Halvorson . Hank played many roles - coach, fundraiser, and organizer. His family asked to honor his memory by recognizing others whose efforts enhance the team. The first award was given to the Richberg family for organizing a summer celebration that raised dollars for the Stars.

Hank Goers Award
In 2016 we lost Hank Goers , father to Jeff and husband to Kathy. For years Hank was a dedicated parent who made countless sacrifices for Jeff, but at the same time served the entire team as coach and volunteer. The Hank Goers award is presented to outstanding parents whose reach extends far beyond expectations.
