South Region Stars Bowling
Bowling is a sport which South Region Stars get to enjoy for fun. There's no pressure to compete - just bring a desire to relax and build team spirit. We'll once again meet on Saturday's at Drkula's in Inver Grove Heights (thanks Drkula's!). Athletes, unified partners, and anyone else wishing to bowl do need to pay for the practice each week, but it's just $4 a person for two games, rental shoes and bowling balls (payable at Drukula's).
Practices will be held on Saturdays beginning at 11:30 am from September 17 to December 17, 2016. (NOTE: There may be one or two dates that we cannot meet if other tournaments are scheduled at Drkula's. Be sure to check the South Region Stars website for any updates at southregionstars.com.
Drkula’s “32” Bowl is located at 6710 Cahill Avenue East, Inver Grove Heights 55076
In addition to offering traditional singles and doubles events, Special Olympics athletes also can participate in Unified Sports® doubles. Unified Sports® is a program that combines Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disabilities (Unified Partners) on sports teams for training and competition. Please note that unified partners must be a Level I coach, regardless of age. Details can be found here.
Registration is now open for the 2016 Bowling season. Don't forget that we need each participant to fill out the Registration Form (COMPLETELY). If participating in the state tournament, there will be a $25 registration fee.
If you do plan to participate in the Special Olympics Bowling Competitions you must turn in a completely filled out registration form to Marcie Padgett by September 17. If you cannot make it to the first practice, then you will need to provide her with your registration form and bowling average by that date. (If competing in Doubles or Unified Bowling, she will need your average team score.) We are unable to register you without this information.

- Check Conflicts: Please add the competition schedule to your calendar so that if you are planning a vacation, you can try to work around these dates. Keep in mind that athletes must compete at the area tournament in order to compete in the state competition.
- Remain on Site: If you are sending an athlete who is a beginner; requires one-on-one attention; or has a behavioral issue, the athlete must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is to remain with the athlete.
